So often people over look or try to avoid the DEATH talk as I call it.  Kind of like that song Kenny Chesney sings- Everyone wants to go to heaven, but no one wants to go now. Don't know the song-- click here to listen and watch.

You see our family has always been pretty open about death and the interesting thing about it all --- I would say over the past 14 years we have only had two family members die-- not sure if there are any statistics out there that go along with that or not, but seems like pretty good odds to me.  I am 40 (next month) my parents are 60 & 62-they could live up to 100-- who knows-- so now is the best time because they are all in their "right minds"- Now what is the DEATH talk you may wonder.

If the person sitting across from you at Sunday dinner died or got really sick do you know what his/her wishes are?  Will you and another family member be fussing over them in the hospital?  Do you know if they want to donate organs?  Want to be kept alive on life support?  So many "what if's"

Sunday dinner at my mom's we have this conversation pretty regular.  Not because we are a MORBID family, but more for the fact that we like to be realistic and because we have witnessed families in scenarios that they would never want to be in-- fussing over life or death decisions-- you see our family all agrees on one thing:

"When it is your time-- no plug, tube or vent will keep you alive--"But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Matthew 24:36

Start the conversation with your family---
