Operation Christmas Child- @samaritanspurse has been on my mind- share this story-

So today I have been thinking about Operation Christmas child for some reason.  I mean seriously is Christmas that close-- looks like it is.  I wanted to share a story with you it may take a bit to read, but in case you don't participate in Operation Christmas Child this may move you to do a Christmas Box this year.  I will try to spare you the details, but once you read it -- will you share it with someone else.  Thanks in advance.

So it was a hot and long day and the MISSIONARIES that were sharing the boxes had a long rewarding day-- dust was high from a little wind and the people walking on the paths to get to them.  they were down to one single box that was a boy box.  You always mark them and pray over the box when you put it together.  Anyway so a child comes running down the DIRT path as they are starting to close up for the day-- remember only one box is left.  The little boy comes up and asked did I miss it-- am I too late, I walked miles in hopes of getting the shoe box...The child was able to have the last box and the missionary talked to him about Christ and he said-- I believe I believe cause I prayed that God would make sure I had a box to open when I got here and He did it-- it was the last one, but He did it.  He started to open the box and you could see the excitement simply mounting in his little hands.  He tore the paper off and the missionary begin to cry-- "Oh my it has girl shoes in it she thought to herself"-- the little boy begin to cry-- she promised him she would locate a boy box for him to just give her a minute... he looked up at her and said -- NO this is the box I prayed for, this is exactly what I asked God to have waiting for me.  You see the box had pink shoes in it and other little household supplies-- The missionary asked why would you want a GIRL box.  The little boy started to explain-- you see my mother doesn't have any shoes and she has to walk for miles everyday to get us water to use and this is what she needs-- God thank you he said and as fast as he came to the tent he was gone.

You see God knows exactly what you need -- and he will deliver in his due season--  Faith of a child-
Luke 18:17 - Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

Matthew 18:3 - And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Mark 10:13-16 - And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and [his] disciples rebuked those that brought [them].

Matthew 21:16 - And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

I bet you thought you had to be JEWISH to observe #RoshHashanah didn't you?

Today is the first day of Rosh Hashanah which began at sundown yesterday. Rosh Hashanah is one of 4 Jewish New Years and is the beginning of the Jewish High Holy Days called the Yamim Noraim, the Days of Awe. These are followed 10 days later with Yom Kippor, the day of atonement. Rosh Hashanah is also called the day of judgment. It is called the head of the year and is considered the new year of the people, animals and contracts.

Not Jewish? But they are good things to know for the rest of us as well as there are many things that take place during Rosh Hashanah that we all could benefit from if we put them into practice.

There is an intense reflection of the past year. It is good to look back sometimes and think about where you've been, what you've done and where it is leading you--we do this when we Correct the mistakes of our past and improve on the successes we had.

It is a time to ask for forgiveness from those we may have harmed or offended the past year. It does us all good to clear the air sometimes and make right what is wrong.

It is a time for putting our sins behind us. Christians do that each day as we pray to Jesus. In Jewish culture, forgiveness of sins is symbolized as they take bread and break it into pieces and throw it into water and watch is float away.

Rosh Hashana is a time of love and prayer. It is also a time of sweetness that is symbolized by eating apples and honey.

And another ritual during this time is the blowing of the shofar.  It is a spiritual wake up call to the nation of Israel.  For this reason, Rosh Hashanah is also known as the feast of trumpets.
Many believe that The rapture of the Christian church will take place during this time, partly because of the scripture verse in 1 Thessalonians 4 :13-18  which says

But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep (died), lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.  For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.  Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.

And remember to be careful for your soul and the souls of your loved ones by understanding that a last trumpet will sound one day and we all need to be ready to meet our Savior at any moment.

Yep another BLOG #7-- seriously? Coupon Mama said it--

Are you serious-- anothe BLOG-- yep. I am on like #7 over the past 5 years.  Some focused solely on coupons, savings, debt elimination, Christ, community and more-- so finally this one will have it all!! I know hard to believe, but I promise-- ok maybe I don't promise, but I think I
can..I think I can.  Last night I heard "who people think I am".  You know how when you get married you are your husband's wife-- you have kids-- "There goes such and such mama"-- last night.  A fellow football mom came up to me after my 1st middle School football Jamboree and said -- Hey-- you know I don't even know your name-- I just call you Coupon Mama.-- I chuckled-- that will work.  You know why that works?

Because the Coupon Mama face/hat that I took on back in 2008 was simply an opportunity to spread the word of CHRIST-- through a simple coupon that ended up bringing attention to another opportunity to spread Christ-- share food and look at a coupon differently.  So as we go on this journey on BLOG #7 stick it out and remember the number 7 is God's perfect COMPLETION!

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. Pulled from http://www.biblewheel.com/Topics/Seven_Meaning.php

Did you know this

Your daily Bible Verse!!!-- Matthew said it!

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
– Matthew 12:34-35
